Have you ever…

been so tired you forget the most basic stuff? That beyond tired that makes it seem like you are slurring your speech even though your not (you think). That beyond tired that makes you feel like you are having an out-of-body experience when you are walking because you can see yourself doing it but you’re not quite sure how.

That’s how tired  I was yesterday. I only got about 2 1/2 –3 hours of sleep the night before that. I just couldn’t sleep. I fell asleep around 10PM—that’s not too late right? Right. I woke up again at 12:30AM. A few reasons behind this. One of them is because there is someone that snores. I spend most of the time kicking him (nudging really hard with my foot) to get him to move. Not because he’s on my side of course. When you nudge someone (hard enough) when they are asleep and snoring it makes them shift, temporarily stopping the snoring. THE SNORING! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Some people always say “I just cannot sleep without them there” (the them being their spouse or loved one of course).

“Debbie do you have a hard time sleeping with Paul being out of town so much?”

“HECK NO!!!!!!!!!!!! I sleep much better when Paul is out of town!!! Now don’t get me wrong. I do love it when he’s home too. JUST NOT THE SNORING!!”

There is this song that was on a countdown on a show that Paul and I were watching a few weeks ago. It was a romantic song about how much you love someone and even watching them sleep you love them soooo much. I looked over and told Paul,

“If I am watching you sleep it’s because you are snoring loud and I am thinking of smothering you with your pillow.”

We both kind of laughed about it. We need to have him checked out by a Dr. He doesn’t always snore loudly. He does snore though. A lot. Like crazy a lot. And it makes me crazy a lot.

Does your sweetie snore too? Do share. Tell me what you do about it. I am all for trying new things to get him to sleep so I can sleep!

  1. good luck with the problem...most of us just suck it up and learn to deal with it. The doctor might come up with something.

  2. Matt did a sleep study and he has sleep apnea. He has a CPAP machine he uses at night now and no more snoring. He also had his tonsils taken out and his uvula (sp?) shaved down, but that didn't help much on the snoring. I am a big fan of the CPAP machine, though.
