funny things my kids say...continued
Shayne: How about you go to McDonald's for the kids and then go to Sonic for you?
Me: Excuse me. Are you the boss?
Shayne: Well sometimes I wish I was.
I couldn't help but smile a little.

As I was speaking on the phone with my mom, Stormy was listening and kept responding to things I was talking to my mom about.
Me: Stormy-you are eavesdropping.
Stormy: I'm not Easter dropping.
Me: that's good. Now stop eavesdropping.
Stormy: I'm NOT Easter dropping.
I smile and tell mom that I will talk to her another time...when Stormy isn't Easter dropping.

2.25.2009---annoying Fun hobby
He got our Wii set up with the Internet and he and his buddies can play on teams. He actually was up until midnight last night and then got his call for work thirty short minutes later. He was extremely grumpy. But...he loves it. It bores me but then...I kind of smile when I hear him

I have really long hair. Most people don't know this though because I ALWAYS keep it up in a clip. The other day my best friend said "Debbie I have no idea how long your hair is." This was in a conversation regarding our many hair styles. Actually her many hair styles. She changes hers up quite a bit. Not me. I haven't CUT my hair in awhile. I have had trims but not cuts. So Saturday I decided that it was time. I did a HUGE cut. And I did it for a good reason.
As you can see from the hair in this bag- I cut my hair. Yes-that is over 8 inches in length. I still have my hair to my shoulders if that gives you any indication of how long my hair was. I decided if I was going to cut my hair that I was going to do it for a cause. What I chose is on Pantene's website. It is for women that have cancer and with all the treatments, no hair. I hope my contribution will help someone somewhere. I am so proud to say that I have also inspired my daughter Shayne. She asked me after my hair appointment if she could do the same. I really do want her to have long hair. It is so pretty on little girls. BUT, how can I deny her the chance to help someone that she wants to help with something that is easy for her but not for someone else? So when her hair is long enough (which should only take a few more months) we will head to the hair salon. I will probably shed a few tears. For two reasons. One, my daughter will have short hair instead of the beautiful long hair she did have. And two, because she was kind enough to donate her hair to a person that needs it. How awesome is that?

Stormy's own challenge 2.21.2009
A day of fun...
Well-the kids started acting up really badly as we were walking out of this place. We tell them that they just lost the other fun options (cosmic mini-golf and this other indoor climbing fun place). They promise they will be good. So we tell them we are still not doing those things but maybe they can earn a smaller thing. So we let them climb all over this old fire truck. Which they loved! Connor was the most excited about it.
And our last fun thing before we left the mall...
You know those quarter little rides that are all over the place? I never let my kids ride them. I don't have specific reason why. I just don't. So as a special last thing, we did. And they thought it was the best thing ever. Who knew that I could spend $1.50 and make my kids the happiest kids walking out of that mall?

Mom-guess what I have in my pocket!
"No"
"Paper"
"No"
Seeing as how I am running out of possibilities I ask, "Shayne what is it?"
And then I hear something. Something oinking at me.

As forewarned I wanted to discuss more of the installing the new door for my BF. Who by the way celebrated her birthday yesterday. Now to start, let me explain a few things about my best friend. She is one of the the best human beings I know. I don't know how I got so lucky to have such a friend. She is also one of cleanest most organized people I know. So Paul and I are there. Installing a door isn't exactly mess free. There is sheet rock dust to contend with and the mess from the shims and etc. So Paul is working and is almost done. There is a mess on the floor. So he tells me "I tried finding a broom and dustpan but couldn't." So I think, "No way. Her floors always look clean. I'll find it since you are probably just missing it."
So I look and look and look. No dustpan. There are couple of brooms in the garage. But they seem to be, ya know, shop brooms. ummmm....where would she hide her dustpan? She gets home with her crew and loves the new door. It looks GREAT! Paul did do a good job. So we tell her we tried cleaning the best we could (we got the vacuum out to clean most of the mess). We tell her, "We didn't see a dustpan anywhere." She replies with "Oh-we don't have one." That makes me smile because only my best friend would have a house as spotless as hers and no dustpan. They use the vacuum for everything. I hope they enjoy their new door. Paul doesn't mind installing this kind of stuff but I think next time, we will travel with our dustpan so we don't panic at the messes we leave behind.

funny Stormy
"Because it will strangle you"
"What does that mean?"
"It means it will choke you and you won't be able to breathe"
"That's okay. I like to sleep like that"
"No you don't. If you can't breathe, that is bad."
"Fine but don't you sleep with it or lose it."
Okay sis.

last post for now...
She was not into the camera today. Hey-we all have our days...
And you may realize (or now you will that I am pointing it out) that this same outfit is in another one of my posts. I love this sleeper! She will be out of it soon enough and all I will have are these pictures...
A special night out...
Also- on the way home my sweetie was STARVING. She has never easily taken a paci but last night...
She did!
I know I shouldn't encourage this little habit. But it's just so stinkin cute! Her big chubby cheeks had little indention from the short few minutes she had this in her mouth! And boy-did she eat when she had the real thing! And then-she slept!
always playing the catch up game
This was my valentine's present! It is awesome!! Paul almost always out does me on the gifts. I am not going to complain though! 2.15.2009

Valentine's Day just isn't what it used to be...
Times have certainly changed for Valentine's Day. No more romance-no way. No more needless stuffed animals-who needs it? No more candy-except the kids' which I eat anyways. But no more fun? NO WAY! We had a day full of events!
We all got up late-AWESOME! Paul stopped and got donuts for us. We got ready and went to one of my niece's cheer-leading events. And then...I took the kids to a doll store. The day kind of goes down hill from here. I was supposed to drop Connor off with my sister so I could take my girls and niece to the doll store. That didn't happen. I had to take him. This is a doll store cram packed with doll clothes and porcelain tea sets and expensive dolls. Connor was being a 3-year-old boy and walked over to this doll that was sitting on a chair-on the ground within any kids reach. He picked it up and set it down--as gently as a 3-year-old boy can. I thought the old lady behind the counter was going to stroke! She told me that it was a very expensive doll! I grabbed him, paid for the items and left...embarrassed by my son (yet again). As I am driving, I am getting more agitated. Why should I be embarrassed? That
I did get to spend Valentine's Day with my most loved ones and isn't that the point? I got to watch America's Funniest Videos with Paul before I passed out at 10:30PM. What a day...
I truly hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!
running a tad behind...
These were from Friday the 13th...I was asked to take some photos for my nephew's basketball team so off we went. I had to take Connor because he had his coat on when he found out I was leaving. And of course Ms. Sage. The guys (13-year-olds) did great. It is a frightening look into the future for me. I am so NOT ready for my kids to be teenagers! But anyways-Connor kept waiting for them to not notice this ball and when they didn't...he snuck in. He then hid it under a folding chair in hopes it wouldn't be noticed that he was
stealing borrowing it.
To digress more I have some funny stories about Friday the 13th. Not the date so much as the movie. You know the original one. My older sisters used to take great enjoyment in terrifying the younger siblings. One way was to watch scary movies (in this case, obviously Friday the 13th) and then repeat scary parts/sounds to us. For example...kill kill kill...a...a...a. Anyone remember the original? I HATE scary movies now!!!

2.12.2009 challenge= early start
Today was Parent/Teacher conferences. Both girls got excellent comments from their teachers. Shayne needs to build confidence with her reading and math skills. She does have some skills that need no confidence.
drum roll please...2.11.09
"Shayne eat your ice cream down on the carpet"
"You mean because it's already stained and if I spill it's okay"
Next Stormy realized I was taking pics for my blog so she decided to...
take her own pictures of course
Aren't you wondering where the little sweetie was?
Right beside me of course...she fell asleep before the movie started.
AND THE MOVIE WAS...
"HEY YOU GUUYYSS!"
Did you ever think this would be it? Paul and I love this movie. It had mild language issues in it. The kids loved the pirate ship.--Connor did anyways. The girls' thought the skulls were gross. And I still laughed over the bat scene and the truffle shuffle. So if it has been awhile since you have seen this oldie...go watch it. Bring on some funny memories.
