funny things my kids say...continued

A conversation about dinner...
Shayne: How about you go to McDonald's for the kids and then go to Sonic for you?
Me: Excuse me. Are you the boss?
Shayne: Well sometimes I wish I was.
I couldn't help but smile a little.
------------------------------------------------------------
As I was speaking on the phone with my mom, Stormy was listening and kept responding to things I was talking to my mom about.
Me: Stormy-you are eavesdropping.
Stormy: I'm not Easter dropping.
Me: that's good. Now stop eavesdropping.
Stormy: I'm NOT Easter dropping.
I smile and tell mom that I will talk to her another time...when Stormy isn't Easter dropping.

2.25.2009---annoying Fun hobby

My honey is obsessive when he gets new toys. Just like...well everyone in my household.Yours truly has to have it all when I get stuck on a hobby. But lately Paul's obsession is...

He got our Wii set up with the Internet and he and his buddies can play on teams. He actually was up until midnight last night and then got his call for work thirty short minutes later. He was extremely grumpy. But...he loves it. It bores me but then...I kind of smile when I hear him yelling saying that he didn't even see that sniper or I got him or get out of my way! A man and his toys...they never change! Victory is sweet and Defeat is not an option!

Yesterday...2.24.2009

I had a very busy day yesterday. It started with me taking a cake to my friend (and momma of the kids I watch) for her birthday. I then ran into a photo supply store to "check things out." And then I made a pit stop at a consignment store for kids on my way home. I have been looking for something for Sage but not wanting to pay full price. These things were not around when my other kids were small.

It's a Bumbo seat and she likes it. I like it because it helps her sit up more on her own and makes it so she can't rub off any more hair on the back of her head!

2.24.2009

the answer...

Why did Stormy look like this?

For two reasons...

1-She got her candy taken away for not listening.

2.-Because her big sister squirted foam soap up her nose and it made her eyes water.

Bet you only guessed one of those answers huh?

2.23.2009

Finally~ I am almost caught up to the date on my blog/photo challenge.
I have really long hair. Most people don't know this though because I ALWAYS keep it up in a clip. The other day my best friend said "Debbie I have no idea how long your hair is." This was in a conversation regarding our many hair styles. Actually her many hair styles. She changes hers up quite a bit. Not me. I haven't CUT my hair in awhile. I have had trims but not cuts. So Saturday I decided that it was time. I did a HUGE cut. And I did it for a good reason.

As you can see from the hair in this bag- I cut my hair. Yes-that is over 8 inches in length. I still have my hair to my shoulders if that gives you any indication of how long my hair was. I decided if I was going to cut my hair that I was going to do it for a cause. What I chose is on Pantene's website. It is for women that have cancer and with all the treatments, no hair. I hope my contribution will help someone somewhere. I am so proud to say that I have also inspired my daughter Shayne. She asked me after my hair appointment if she could do the same. I really do want her to have long hair. It is so pretty on little girls. BUT, how can I deny her the chance to help someone that she wants to help with something that is easy for her but not for someone else? So when her hair is long enough (which should only take a few more months) we will head to the hair salon. I will probably shed a few tears. For two reasons. One, my daughter will have short hair instead of the beautiful long hair she did have. And two, because she was kind enough to donate her hair to a person that needs it. How awesome is that?

a little sister challenge 2.22.2009

Any guesses on why Stormy looks like this? I will answer this one in a few days so you have time to try to figure it out...

Stormy's own challenge 2.21.2009

Only my little Stormy...
This girl has a thing with wearing her shoes on the wrong feet. That is seriously how she prefers it. I usually manage to catch her and make her switch. But before she outgrows this little oddity of hers I thought I would document it. She always makes me smile...

A day of fun...

Our kiddos know that we do family fun stuff every once in awhile that is outside the home. Most of the time our family fun is at home. But every once in awhile we let them out. On this day we decided to go to the mall. The mall we went to has a few options for kids. One is a place that has roller coasters, rides, games, etc. But on a Saturday (as I'm sure you can imagine) it is packed. So, instead of the rides today, we decide to let the kids get their faces painted. The lady that does this is AWESOME! I wish I was half as talented as she is. The most I can do is hearts and small things.

Well-the kids started acting up really badly as we were walking out of this place. We tell them that they just lost the other fun options (cosmic mini-golf and this other indoor climbing fun place). They promise they will be good. So we tell them we are still not doing those things but maybe they can earn a smaller thing. So we let them climb all over this old fire truck. Which they loved! Connor was the most excited about it.

And our last fun thing before we left the mall...
You know those quarter little rides that are all over the place? I never let my kids ride them. I don't have specific reason why. I just don't. So as a special last thing, we did. And they thought it was the best thing ever. Who knew that I could spend $1.50 and make my kids the happiest kids walking out of that mall?

Mom-guess what I have in my pocket!

"Mom guess what I have in my pocket!"
"Shayne-you have to get ready for school!"
"I am but guess what's in my pocket. PLLEEEAASSEE!"
"Lipstick"
"No"
"Paper"
"No"
Seeing as how I am running out of possibilities I ask, "Shayne what is it?"
And then I hear something. Something oinking at me.
Funny right? This little pig was a stow-away! Just kidding. Shayne got this for sending out magazine subscription requests to family and friends (which you all will be getting soon). The nose lights up and it oinks. I have been heard yelling saying to put the pig away before I take it away. Never thought I would have to say that to my little city girl but there you go. I have said it. A LOT. So here's oinking back at you. May this little pig wander your way...and grin back at you the way Shayne did when she pulled this out of her pocket to show me.

2.20.2009

So yesterday was full of challenges. Paul worked on a friend's car for a few hours. And then we headed over to my best friend's house so he could install a new front door (which I have more to say about closer to the end of this post). And of course there are the "normal" everyday challenges...laundry, dishes, the kids, and of course my photo challenge. Only a couple of those do I really enjoy (as you may have noticed). So my favorite...the photo...no wait I mean the kids...actually...it's a good thing they are both together.

These new sleepers that have the "shoes" are so freakin' cute! I love them and when I see them and Sage always needs them...okay so that's stretching it a bit but oh well. Also-you may have noticed that I have been taking even more pictures of my sweetie than the other kids. Which isn't necessarily true. I do take tons of the other kids. I post more of the baby though because...she is growing so fast. She is already 5 1/2 months old. I feel like I am running out of time for her to still be the tiny little baby she started out as. So for now, please enjoy all that I share of the littlest baby of mine. I know I am trying to.

As forewarned I wanted to discuss more of the installing the new door for my BF. Who by the way celebrated her birthday yesterday. Now to start, let me explain a few things about my best friend. She is one of the the best human beings I know. I don't know how I got so lucky to have such a friend. She is also one of cleanest most organized people I know. So Paul and I are there. Installing a door isn't exactly mess free. There is sheet rock dust to contend with and the mess from the shims and etc. So Paul is working and is almost done. There is a mess on the floor. So he tells me "I tried finding a broom and dustpan but couldn't." So I think, "No way. Her floors always look clean. I'll find it since you are probably just missing it."
So I look and look and look. No dustpan. There are couple of brooms in the garage. But they seem to be, ya know, shop brooms. ummmm....where would she hide her dustpan? She gets home with her crew and loves the new door. It looks GREAT! Paul did do a good job. So we tell her we tried cleaning the best we could (we got the vacuum out to clean most of the mess). We tell her, "We didn't see a dustpan anywhere." She replies with "Oh-we don't have one." That makes me smile because only my best friend would have a house as spotless as hers and no dustpan. They use the vacuum for everything. I hope they enjoy their new door. Paul doesn't mind installing this kind of stuff but I think next time, we will travel with our dustpan so we don't panic at the messes we leave behind.

2.19.2009

2.19.2009-always up for a game of...

Candyland!!
As I sit here quickly typing this Paul just tells me "I'm not even cheating and she just beat me again!"
That would make game #3. Maybe we could sneak her into the boats to give us some good luck...yeah until she starts shouting out the colors on the slots and we are escorted out.
(In all seriousness. We are not big gamblers. Not by a long shot. I can't even remember the last time we went. Even when we do go, our little $20 doesn't last long but we refuse to waste any more than that!).

hahahaha

Just thought I would share my pretty girl's laugh with everyone. We could all use a good laugh now and then.

2.18.2009

what????

Issues viewing my blog but a very cranky tired baby need my attention now. I will work on this tomorrow! Goodnight everyone!

funny Stormy

My sweet child made this after Valentine's Day. She took her time and really worked on it. And then we had it in a bag on the counter so she wouldn't lose it. Well she found that bag last night. She came downstairs to ask for a drink for the millionth time and she was wearing the necklace. Here is the conversation:
"Stormy-you can't wear that necklace to bed"
"Why not?"
"Because it will strangle you"
"What does that mean?"
"It means it will choke you and you won't be able to breathe"
"That's okay. I like to sleep like that"
"No you don't. If you can't breathe, that is bad."
"Fine but don't you sleep with it or lose it."

Okay sis.

2.18.2009---not worth fighting

Can you tell what this is?

Ah yes-that would be the man purse my son decided we had to take into Walmart tonight. It is actually a bag that I once used to hold stamping stuff. But it kept him quiet and entertained in the back of the cart while I shopped. I think he was trying to "work" on the cart so he could get out and terrorize the store walk with his sisters.

2.17.2009

last post for now...

My little sweetie--you can't tell she really is a sweetie from these pictures.

She was not into the camera today. Hey-we all have our days...

And you may realize (or now you will that I am pointing it out) that this same outfit is in another one of my posts. I love this sleeper! She will be out of it soon enough and all I will have are these pictures...

A special night out...

Last night was my nephew's birthday. We all went out to dinner. He seemed to enjoy his present. I know that his sisters will become his targets. I hope they can run fast. He will need to run faster to get away from them!

Also- on the way home my sweetie was STARVING. She has never easily taken a paci but last night...

She did!

I know I shouldn't encourage this little habit. But it's just so stinkin cute! Her big chubby cheeks had little indention from the short few minutes she had this in her mouth! And boy-did she eat when she had the real thing! And then-she slept!

always playing the catch up game

I am still keeping up with my photo "challenge." I just haven't been able to get to sit long enough to post!

This was my valentine's present! It is awesome!! Paul almost always out does me on the gifts. I am not going to complain though! 2.15.2009

2.15.2009

Valentine's Day just isn't what it used to be...

Do you remember when you first started dating someone and Valentine's Day was near? Remember how much thought/romance you put into that one holiday? I do. Paul used to get me flowers and/or a stuffed animal or jewelry. I actually did get a great gift this year. Though it has no romance any where near it. I got a new lens for my camera. Which I went with and bought (with his money). Anyways-
Times have certainly changed for Valentine's Day. No more romance-no way. No more needless stuffed animals-who needs it? No more candy-except the kids' which I eat anyways. But no more fun? NO WAY! We had a day full of events!
We all got up late-AWESOME! Paul stopped and got donuts for us. We got ready and went to one of my niece's cheer-leading events. And then...I took the kids to a doll store. The day kind of goes down hill from here. I was supposed to drop Connor off with my sister so I could take my girls and niece to the doll store. That didn't happen. I had to take him. This is a doll store cram packed with doll clothes and porcelain tea sets and expensive dolls. Connor was being a 3-year-old boy and walked over to this doll that was sitting on a chair-on the ground within any kids reach. He picked it up and set it down--as gently as a 3-year-old boy can. I thought the old lady behind the counter was going to stroke! She told me that it was a very expensive doll! I grabbed him, paid for the items and left...embarrassed by my son (yet again). As I am driving, I am getting more agitated. Why should I be embarrassed? That stupid lady shouldn't have that EXPENSIVE doll where any kid could have done what my son did. After this, I thankfully went home. With a pit stop at the tobacco shop. One of Paul's more disgusting habits is his chew. I decided to get him some cancer causing chew as one of his Valentine's gifts. When I got home I decided to hide his 5 cans of chew in a scavenger hunt kind of style. Stormy ran upstairs and said "Daddy we hid your chew!" I heard Paul say "...never take you present shopping girl."

Then I got to go to Wal-Mart by myself and then to Taco Bell for dinner for my kids. Sounds romantic right?
I did get to spend Valentine's Day with my most loved ones and isn't that the point? I got to watch America's Funniest Videos with Paul before I passed out at 10:30PM. What a day...
I truly hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!
Happy First Valentine's Miss Sage!
And because I know you want to know the answers to the scavenger hunt...
And I didn't take a picture of one of the answers...do you know which one?

running a tad behind...

These were from Friday the 13th...I was asked to take some photos for my nephew's basketball team so off we went. I had to take Connor because he had his coat on when he found out I was leaving. And of course Ms. Sage. The guys (13-year-olds) did great. It is a frightening look into the future for me. I am so NOT ready for my kids to be teenagers! But anyways-Connor kept waiting for them to not notice this ball and when they didn't...he snuck in. He then hid it under a folding chair in hopes it wouldn't be noticed that he was stealing borrowing it.

To digress more I have some funny stories about Friday the 13th. Not the date so much as the movie. You know the original one. My older sisters used to take great enjoyment in terrifying the younger siblings. One way was to watch scary movies (in this case, obviously Friday the 13th) and then repeat scary parts/sounds to us. For example...kill kill kill...a...a...a. Anyone remember the original? I HATE scary movies now!!!

2.12.2009

2.12.2009 challenge= early start

I almost blogged this the other day when I got a call from Shayne's teacher. But I decided to wait until I had the physical evidence in front of me.
Today was Parent/Teacher conferences. Both girls got excellent comments from their teachers. Shayne needs to build confidence with her reading and math skills. She does have some skills that need no confidence.
Here is the front of the picture she drew. It is two friends.

And here is the back...
This is a BREAK UP NOTE!!!! She decided that one boyfriend was enough. What this note says is
I am sorry
I am going to break up with you.
How sweet is that?

drum roll please...2.11.09

Any good guesses on the movie?
Our family movie night was great. We started with...Getting bowls of ice cream...A funny comment by Shayne...

"Shayne eat your ice cream down on the carpet"

"You mean because it's already stained and if I spill it's okay"

Next Stormy realized I was taking pics for my blog so she decided to...

take her own pictures of course

Aren't you wondering where the little sweetie was?

Right beside me of course...she fell asleep before the movie started.

AND THE MOVIE WAS...

"HEY YOU GUUYYSS!"

Did you ever think this would be it? Paul and I love this movie. It had mild language issues in it. The kids loved the pirate ship.--Connor did anyways. The girls' thought the skulls were gross. And I still laughed over the bat scene and the truffle shuffle. So if it has been awhile since you have seen this oldie...go watch it. Bring on some funny memories.
