I took my four kids + one of Shayne's friends to the pool...by myself. It was just our neighborhood pool so it really wasn't too bad. Except that I didn't bring the life jackets...or the floaties. Shayne and her friend do a very good job swimming without any assistance. Stormy and Connor...not so much. I had to make sure they stayed in the little pool. Sage doesn't like the cold water--not even a little. So she and I just hung around and talked with another LARGE family that was there. What do I mean by large? Well...they currently have 11 children and just found out they are expecting their 12th. W-O-W. Oh-and the youngest is a month younger than Sage. W-O-W. And the mom home schools them all now. W-O-W. I am in awe a little of how much patience she has. But also--to those that are able to have as many blessings as God can give them...that is wonderful. That is their choice. Very lucky--I think. She told me not all people see it that way. But they do feel lucky...and blessed many times over. It made me taking 5 kids to the pool seem...like such a whiner. But...in my defense (and even she said this)...the crew I had were all aged 7 and under. She has older ones that help with the smaller ones. She didn't have all 11 of her kids with her. Just 9 or so...
But guess what else I did on this trip to the pool?
I didn't take my camera. Not my good, good one. Or my other good one. Or the one I affectionately refer to as my crappy camera (although it is a good camera...it just isn't a SLR).
I had to make do with my cell phone. But I
still did get my challenge done.
Kudos to the couple with all the kids and I love the pics of the kiddos!!
