Boating Bliss...and Burn 7.5.2009

So Saturday was a great day. It was full of firsts and memories. And Sunday was the same. We went out on my father-in-law's boat. Sage did great. No sea-sickness. No crying. Just...wonderful curiosity...

Shayne was her usual great self. She loves to swim. The mud was squishy...so I hear...
Captain Connor and his grandpa. Connor was so proud to steer the boat. Stormy was so funny. I have a couple of funny things my kids say moments to post...someday.
My nephew was swimming like a fish... So...did I get in the lake? That would be a no. I am not into the mud, fishy, brown, not able to see what's around me swimming scene. And that is okay. I don't feel the need to get into touch with nature and I don't want it touching me either (Gene Simmons said this...it just cracked me up so I had to use it). I do love boat rides. I love wave-runners. I love tubing. I will swim in lakes...maybe next time...or the time after that...just not today. What I did get today was a weird sunburn from holding Sage while she slept (covered with a towel so she wouldn't a)get burned and b)to keep her from getting wet). Paul got burned too. So did my sister-in-law. Hmmm...you would think we would know better. Oh wait---we were busy making sure the kids wouldn't burn...and they didn't. So for now...I will cringe when the shower hits my burnt skin. I will yell when the kids jump on my back where the burn is. I will look for the cold spots in bed to help with heat.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY BEST FRIEND AND HER HUBBY...I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S BEEN 12 YEARS!!!!!!!!
