How many pictures of your mother do you have? Of her holding you? Probably not very many. Mommas are usually behind the camera. I prefer to be. Photographs show all my personal flaws. You know, the thirty extra pounds I have to lose. The yellowing teeth (which have been whitened using photo shop). The cluttered place we call home. And so on. But it is important to document all of these things also. So today, I asked Paul to take a couple of shots of me and Sage. He, of course, obliged. I always have to ask if I want a picture of me. Which bothers me and it doesn't bother me. Confused?
You see, I mind because, what if I am not looking my most fabulous (which I never am)? What if I have big zit? What if I haven't fixed my hair (which I never do)? ETC. But I also wish that I didn't always have to ask. It might be nice to look back at some true candids. This is a lose-lose situation. But anyways-curious what the fabulous me looks like?
