Most everyone knows that I have a twin. When people find this out, there are a few standard questions...
1) "Do you look alike?"---this is a legitimate question. There are two types of twins. Identical and Fraternal. To answer this question--I am an identical twin sooo YES we look alike.
2) "Do you like being a twin?"---well seeing as how I don't know what it is like to not be a twin I am gonna have to answer with, yeah sure why not?
3) "Did you ever play tricks on anyone?"---yes and still do. Not intentionally though. We sound a like. On the phone, we get people all the time. And also, people will come up to us and think it's the other twin and they talk to the 'wrong' twin. We never have it in our hearts to tell them they are talking to the wrong twin. It causes major embarrassment for them and entertainment for us.
4) "Do you feel it when the other one hurts?"--again a legitimate question. The answer is divided. Physically--no, thank God. But just like anyone else, you just know when your friend is in pain and there it is.
5) "Are you two alike?"---The answer for us is NO! We have totally different tastes in food, clothes, music, etc. We do like some of the same stuff but are more different than alike in most areas.
6) "Are you best friends?"---yes but not in the same way as most best friends. My twin is like another half of my soul. Even though we are sooo different, I would be lost without her. She makes me friggin crazy most of the time. But again...we are each a half of each other. I do have a best friend (since like 1995) and I don't know what I would do without her. My twin is my twin and my best friend is my best friend. I don't know how else to explain that.
7)"Can people tell you apart?"---The answer for this one is now more than ever. I am a lot heavier than she is (which I am working on peeps!). Also--since our style is so different it is easier. Also--it used to be if people asked who was the mean twin, it used to be me. Now it's her. I only typed that because I know she will read this. HAHA rere. But...years ago...not so much.
Here are few pics from my past...Can you tell us apart?

Well--let me hear from ya. Can you tell us apart in the pictures? B--you can't answer these. I know you know. Except the baby one; you might not know on that one.
That was fun. I may have to dig for and scan in more of my twinkie and I.
Also--one last quick bit of info. Our parents used to paint one of our toe nails so they could tell us apart as babies. Only until they could tell that I was the cute one and she was the pain. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can tell you apart.... (of course this is after years of being quizzed on all the pics!) Great post sis!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the pics...been a while since I've seen them. Curious though about one thing, does Bonnie usually the one on the left for a reason? (not in the baby photo)
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the one on the left in the baby picture. It's pretty bad that we can't tell them apart either. Need to make notes so that when we have more senile moments, we'll know!
ReplyDeleteGood thing I am the cute one! :)
