Another note. I mentioned that Stormy is being even more ornery than usual. Some of that is natural. I mean she's five and her name is Stormy. What else should I expect? Should I expect her to sass back when told to do something? yes. Should I expect her to antagonize those around her? yes. Should I expect her to talk non-stop for 15 minutes straight on who know what subject? yes. Should I expect her to get into things she knows she is not supposed to? No, seriously I am asking you. BECAUSE...well, let me start with a little story.
For Christmas I asked for this certain perfume (Pink Sugar). I didn't get it for Christmas. I got other stuff--which is not the point. I finally went and bought myself this perfume on Tuesday. That is a big deal. Because, as a mother, I almost never buy myself stuff. There is a ridiculous guilt that goes into a purchase made for myself. So I just did it. I LOVE this perfume. It smells wonderful!!!! So I finally open the box up yesterday and spray myself after my shower and am smiling because I love it so much! I go about my day. I ask Stormy to run upstairs for something in my closet. About 3 minutes later I hear her crying. I ask her what is wrong.
"I broke your perfume!"
"WHAT?!?"
So I run upstairs. My new bottle of perfume, which had been on my bathroom counter at the back of it so the kids couldn't' reach it isn't there any longer.
"STORMY MAUREEN!! GO TO YOUR ROOM RIGHT NOW!!!!!"
She takes off crying. I am almost in tears. She had climbed up onto the counter to get it. She accidentally pulled the lid off and dropped the bottle. Onto the hard tile floor where it shattered.
I clean up the mess. My new perfume that was only sprayed a few times hours earlier--gone. I then go into Stormy's room.
"Stormy, I know you didn't mean to drop Mommy's new perfume.
You know that you weren't supposed to mess with that.
You are not in big trouble anymore.
I'm glad you didn't get cut with the glass bottle.
BUT you have to stay in your room for nap for a little while."
"Okay Mommy. Your perfume smells pretty."
Oh Stormy. On the plus side...my bathroom smells so pretty!!
Poor Stormy......sorry about your perfume
