The girls’ got to dress up for Pioneer Day at school. Hmmm…I’m not a pioneer. I have no idea what to put my girls in. And I forgot until the morning of. What did I come up with?
Aprons and handkerchiefs.
What the heck am I talking about? See Stormy below?
That is a handkerchief on her head(yes-it’s new. Paul happened to still have some left in a new package he got for Christmas awhile ago). I know pioneers didn’t wear GAP or pink snow boots on the wrong feet or aprons with brightly colored cupcakes on them. BUT I had to use what I had available ten minutes before we had to leave for school.
As for Shayne—we had a bandana for her head (I had to remind her to not call it a doo-rag at school). And her apron? I made it out of two handkerchiefs. I cut one so I had the strips and I quickly stitched it together with another that I folded into the triangle shape. I even put an “S” on it just for her. Can you see it?
My pioneers together:
Well-pioneers probably didn’t wear GAP shirts or pink boots and I know the women didn’t wear jeans. They probably also didn’t have such blinding colors coming through on their photographs right?
How about this then?
you’re welcome.
