6.28.2009~*Strawberry Fun*~

So on this particular Sunday we (me and the kids) headed out to a Strawberry Festival that my brother-in-law and his wife invited us to. Free strawberry sundaes and fun things for the kids to do. Sounds good right? Paul was doing some work at his dad's house and was going to meet us up there. Fast forward a couple hours...

Paul worked through all of our fun. Which really was okay. I was pissy about it at first but...we spent the rest of the afternoon together and then went to dinner with some of his family. It really was a great day!

This was before the festival...Sage just looking...as her shirt says...ADORABLE! And she has started to show us a new grin lately...

One of the fun things for the kids to do was to climb onto a fire truck or ambulance...and of course...my kids LOVED this!

My nephew Logan...isn't he cute?!? You can't tell he had tubes put in just 2 days prior!

Shayne--looking through some of her free goodies that she got...
This picture is what I get for trying to get him to look for a picture when he really wanted to play...

6.27.2009~~CAUGHT UP SMILE~~

Can my mommy get a woot woot for FINALLY being caught up on the blog?
And fyi...this is one of mommy's favorite shirts on me! Brings out my eyes...

6.26.2009---school's out...but not for long!

Of course school is out. It is the end of June after all. No-my kids are not in summer school. But...that doesn't mean that I don't make them do "homework." Shayne struggled a little with her math in first grade. Now...just to keep certain easy aspects fresh...she has to practice. So at Target when we found this addition practice board that happens to be a dry erase thing...I jumped all over it! She gets excited for getting the right answers and I love it because it entertains while I edit pictures, pick up, play on the computer...etc. Not to be left out...Stormy got number recognition and alphabet recognition cards. Which...more on another post on another day for this!

6.25.2009--haahaa haahaa

I almost forgot...but not quite. I didn't feel like pulling out a "real" camera to take a picture. So I used my cell phone...so excuse the quality. And my subject...was the only one up at 10pm this night.

The face is saying "PLEASE LET ME SLEEP IN YOUR ROOM. PLEASE LET ME HAVE SOME MORE MILK TO DRINK AND IF NOT MILK...I'LL SETTLE FOR WATER." And did I give in?

Nope. I had had enough of my darling boy for this day. He did go back to bed in his room and slept very peacefully for the next 10 hours!

Don't you wish your sister was great like...

So Shayne decided she didn't want to spend the night at her friend's house a little after midnight. I went and picked her up. It was at that time that Sage decided to wake up as well. Shayne wanted to hold her...no big deal. We were getting ready to go up to bed anyways in a few minutes. A few minutes is all it took though. Yep-they are both asleep. Have I mentioned what a great big sister Shayne is? Well---she is. I couldn't love her more. How sweet is that?

6.23.2009---oh bottle!

Yep- she can hold her own bottle...when she chooses to.

6.22.2009 "SAY WHAT?"

Do you have pictures that you look back at and have no idea why someone is making a certain expression?

6.21.2009~*~*~Father's Day~*~*~*

I could go on and on about what we did for Father's Day. I could tell you that Paul went to breakfast with just Connor and met up with his dad and the rest of his family. I could tell you that my twin took 3/4 of my kids to the pool and we met up with her after a bit. I could tell you that it was a nice relaxing Father's Day. But I won't. I will show you a few pictures...and a poem I found online by an unknown author that made me smile...

Daddy, We love you
For all that you do.
We'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love us, too.
You feed us and need us
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause
We love you
On this Father's Day.

6.20.2009~*~*ANOTHER ROADTRIP*~*~*~

Can you guess where we went? A couple of you may know...it is down in a southern part of Kansas to see....

...my big sister and her crew. I only took my girls and my niece Ashes. I should have taken Connor. You see, it is harvest (which I had no idea) and of course there are tractors everywhere. And the one in the picture above belongs to my brother-in-law. Now before I show more pictures of this trip I want to say a little something about him. He works harder than most people I know. He is a boss at an elevator (which if you are thinking about the thing you climb on in the mall you are from the city) and also farms. Like crazy farms. He handles his land and helps his dad with his. CRAZY BUSY MAN! But if not for him and other farmers we would...starve. So thank you for all that you do. It was nice to see you for the 5 minutes you took for your break. Enjoy your up-coming vacation. You deserve it!
Okay...I went down because my niece and nephew were in a big production of Willy Wonka's Kids. They played Oompa Loompa's. Wish I could have seen more. My little baby decided I should not sit in the theater any more...right when it started. I did stand in the back so I could see bits and pieces though.
The rest of our trip there was spent talking and checking on the kids. Heat doesn't seem to affect kids as much as adults. The kids had a blast playing with the zip line.

It was nice to see my big sis.I miss her and her kids a lot! It seems like we both are always busy these days. I wonder why?!?! Love ya MK

6.19.2009--on one on two on...

Guess what she learned? Okay--I'm up...now what?
Watch me go!.....here I go....
All that work for two inches forward and ending in a face-plant?!?! What a waste!

Who fell asleep on the way home?

Well it wasn't Shayne's friend, Lexi. And it wasn't Shayne. Connor fell asleep. So did Sage although I don't have a picture of her snoozing.
And even though it doesn't look like it, Stormy was sleeping.
Creepy huh? She sleeps with her eyes open sometimes. And then she falls over sometimes too.Right onto her baby sister's car seat.
We had a great trip. The kids legs are sore from all the walking they had to do. I wish I could say I lost about 5 pounds from all the walking/sweating. I wish I could say that...but I won't.

PART III of PART II of our vacation...6.18.2009

So on this fun (HOT) day (6.18.2009) after a peaceful night at our hotel we headed out again. Down to the riverfront where the steps to the arch are. We happened upon this statue:

Stormy was convinced that someone had died. She then proceeded to say to whomever would listen that people have died in the river. Oh Stormy...
Next...
Getting ready to go up the arch...
View from the top:
The kids thought it was really cool. And what did Sage think?
Her usual.

After the egg-shaped elevator ride down the arch we decided to beat the heat and check out the museum in the arch.
We got to the arch just in time. Why, you ask? Because when we got there we were able to just walk on in. When we left, the line was CRAZY! Next up: Lunch at Union Station...
Well...kind of. Actually right behind Union Station.
The kids were very curious about the drums on the ceiling. "Do they work?"
After lunch I wanted to walk around Union Station. But the kids saw this first:
Yep- they wanted to feed the fish. So why not? Except Sage. She had had enough fun for the morning.
We did walk around Union Station. I was a little disappointed. Here I was thinking it would be more historical. Nope--shopping. But most of the shops had closed. There is one area that has a little history in it:
This sign was in a case of items of days gone by and it made me smile...Who knew?
It was time to head home after Union Station. So Goodbye St. Louis!

Guess who fell asleep on the way home?
